Analogue Trunk on IP Office 500v2

    Dear All,

I have an Avaya IP Office 500v2 running v8.1(52). I have an analogue trunk line setup to a remote office, the far side are using an ACM.

Line appearance buttons are programmed onto all the phones that require access to the analogue trunk line (about 12 handsets). So someone from our remote office dials in, the line rings on all the relevant handsets with the first person answering the call as normal and then anyone else wanting to join the call just pressing the line appearance button to be conferenced in. So far so good.

The problems occur when dialing out onto the analogue trunk. We have a two button solution to make outgoing calls, Firstly a "dial" button which dials 701 and a corresponding shortcode for 701 that points to the right line group ID. Then if anyone else who wants to join in on the outgoing call they have to hit the line appearance button.

We tried using only a line appearance but if we initiate a call using the line appearance instead of the "dial" button then the far site cannot hear us unless we hit a random key on the keypad which seems to open the line. Then we generally encounter problems where the line appears locked and anyone pressing the lien appearance button cannot get onto the call.

What we would really like is a one button solution that will allow us to initiate a call or to join an already open call. What would be ideal is to find out why we need to press that extra key when using the line appearance to make calls on the trunk and to find a way around that?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Stuart.
