    Polycom SoundStation2 Avaya

This is the setup I am using:

    *AVAYA IP403 Office switch.
*Avaya 30 port IP400 Digital Station.
    *IP office manager 5.2.

I got a SoundStation2 Avaya 2940 when I plug it in on a digital port I get no dial tone. It says ready but I get no dial tone. If I plug one of the regular phones we use (Lucent 4412D+) it takes the extension assigned to that particular port right away. Even if I delete the extension, and plug in my SoundStation2 the system won't recognize it.

It shows under IP Office Manager as an unknown IP Device which is weird because it is not an IP phone.

I don't know what to try now, I posted in the Polycom forum and they said to come here

    Thanks.

That phone is not supported on the IP Office. I believe it is supported on the Avaya Communication Manager but not 100% sure about that, but it is definately not spported or recognized by the IP Office.

As an alternative you could buy the Avaya B149 or B159 because they plug into an analog port, as long as you have one available on your system. The 403 had 2 built in analog ports on the front and you can add 3 expansion modules, you already said you had one so you could add a phone8 to add 8 analog phone ports. We do not sell these anymore but you may be able to buy one from Authentic Avaya.

      Thanks for your response Pete.

What other options I have? I don't have any of the 2 POT ports available. What kind of (model) of speaker/conference phone could I get that would plug into one of the regular ports? What do you think?

      I don't think buying a phone8 is an option.

      Thanks again,

      Jose

A better option would be to upgrade the IP Office to an IP500v2 R8.1 and add a B179 conference phone.
