I have a Partner ACS system with 3 filled slots and 8 incoming lines. All lines sound the same except line 3 - it is much quieter and hard to hear the caller. Even the dial tone has less volume. I assumed it was a bad connection, so I swapped line 2 and 3, but 3 is still the quiet one, so it appears to be in the box. Can a default line volume be programmed in, or is there something else to look at for why one line would have less volume than the others? Thanks.

There's nothing that you can program for line volume on an ACS. Since you swapped 2 and 3, and 3 was still low volume, you are correct that it is a bad line port on the ACS. 3 slots, so you must be equipped for 9 lines? (3 on the ACS, and 3 308 expansion modules)
If so, move the cord from CO-3 to CO-9, then dial Intercom 809 to test volume. If it is good, in system programming use Line Assign (#301) to remove line 3 from each extension, and replace with line 9 on the same button. To the users it will still look like line 3. Remember to also look at programming like Hunt Group Assignment, Call Coverage Extension, Hunt Group Delay, Line Access Restriction, etc.
