    Phone Coverage to voiemail

Our current system is a Merlin Magix. The phone tech and myself are having a lot of problems trying to achieve this setup that we would like to do.

Incoming calls (from outside callers) ring at ext 211. If this is not answered, we can have it roll over (or have a cover? Not sure on the correct term) to ext. 204. The next step we want to achieve is where the problem lies. We would like it to ring a few times at ext. 204 and if no one is able to pick up, then revert back to ext 211's voicemail box.

What we've managed to do is get the phone to ring from 211 to 204 and back to 211, but the voice mail will never pick up and the phone will just ring continually until the caller hangs up.

What we've noticed, when the phone tech removed all coverage, 211's voicemail does pick up. If we bumped 211's rings to anything over 4 or 5, the voicemail doesn't pick up anymore.

We are both pretty dumbfounded. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

How does the call get to 211 to start? Is it a transfer from an auto attendant, or a line that rings directly to 211?

You would put a Primary Coverage-Delayed Ring 211 button on Ext. 204. Be sure 211 is in the Voice Mail Coverage Group. The call will ring at 211, on the 3rd ring it will start ringing on 204's primary coverge button (and continue to ring at 211), and on the 5th ring it should cover to mailbox 211. You may have to adjust the Transfer Return Rings if the original call targeting 211 is a transfer from the Operator or from the Automated Attendant.
