Voicemail IP Address - Cannot Change

Currently the IP Address for Voicemail is set to 255.255.255.255 which works fine...

I'm migrating the voicemail server over to another server, and as such I want to specify the current voicemail server, to make sure it doesn't switch over to the new one before it's completely configured.

When I change the Voicemail IP Address to specify the IP address of the configured server, the system simple does not work. We have an auto attendant on our main line from the voice mail server, when changed to the specific address I simply get a busy tone when calling and no-one can access their voicemail.

Any ideas? It's almost as if it can't find the voicemail server when I specify the IP- which doesn't make much sense if it can broadcast and connect.

Is the Voicemail IP grayed out? Look and see if the LAN IP is grayed out as well?

If they are, you are logging in with a username that has restricted access.

Nope, I am able to change the Voicemail IP address and save the configuration file.

The issue is that the Avaya system doesn't seem to be able to communicate or find the voicemail server after I explicitly specify the IP address. If I leave it to broadcast and use 255.255.255.255 it's fine.
