Fax IP Office IP500v2 FOIP SR140

Hi all,
I am new to PBX and Avaya IP Office and need to configure incoming fax over ip using Brooktrout sr140. I have a reasonable knowledge of the Avaya ip500v2 that we have.

I have followed the instructions provided by Dialogic, Cfg_Guide_SR140_and_Avaya_IPO_7_0_and Avaya_IPO_500.pdf

I am using Brooktrout sr140 fax over ip software with a 4 channel licence, integrated with Microsoft Fax Server, I have setup a single SIP extension in ip office, with an external number call routing etc, and this works fine if I send a call or fax it is picked up and routed correctly, and received by the Microsoft Fax Server.

What I need to understand is how to setup multiple incoming calls. I have 4 channels available on the SR140 FOIP software, how do I setup the Avaya to accept more than 1 call to the Fax number, i.e.
if one Fax is being received inbound on number 123456789, how can I allow another fax to be received at the same time on the same number, without it being busy?

I have No experience at all on this fax software however what about adding the fax channels (extensions) to a huntgroup and pointing 123456789 to the huntgroup instead?

SR140 and IP500 GFI

Did you ever get this to work? I was able to get one channel to work fine but never got all 4 working. I got the 1 channel working in both Dialogic's fdtool and with my fax software GFI Faxmaker.

Hi, did you get any solution for this issue? I am in same stage, newly installed IPO 500 + server edition and trying to configure SR140-L + GFI faxmaker. I am able to send / receive fax on one line and unable to configure multiple line..

Hello All,

I would not use a SIP Extension for connecting the FAX Server, you should setup a SIP Line (SIP Trunk) to be used with the FoIP application, here you can sent via a shortcode like of 5xxx a 3 digit number to the FAX server. This 3 digit number can then be associated with any user within the FAX Server.

The other advantage for using SIP trunk you can easily use T.38 which is absolutely recommend for using FAX over IP.

We use several FAX products, respectively support them at customer sites, we always use a SIP Trunk to connect to this type of application, on IP Office you will of course need the appropriated licenses.

linear hunt group and more endpoints...

You probably should create a linear hunt group with additional SIP Endpoints to accommodate more than one call. In other words what Nash said.
