    Calls to another SIP provider

We have an IP Office 500 system for a number of offices and are currently looking at a different phone system to be used in our sister business and for various reasons we don't want to use IP Office 500.

We have been playing with the new system and it is possible to have SIP URIs to call into the system from other SIP provider such as getonsip, e.g. I have a getonsip account [email protected] and from there I can call [email protected] and to do this I don't need anything fancy set up between the two systems, I just dial and go and the calls are free.

Is it possible to configure something on the IP Office so a free call could be placed to [email protected] over the internet and similarly call a URI such as [email protected] which would be routed through to a handset/extension on the IP Office system?

I accept their may need to be some programming of short codes and particular formats for the URIs for it to work but for the time being I just want to see if it is possible and what licences would need to be purchased.

I'm not interested in a solution that has a cost per call

Mmm, not one reply from any of the views that my original post had.

Do any Avaya staff actually read these forums?
Is what I'm asking for totally impossible?
Should I be posting in a different forum?
