    Auto answer and message??

Can you please tell me if there is a way to have our incoming calls go straight to a voicemail or to a prerecorded message? We are looking for something so that we can have our employees call in on Sunday and have them hear a message saying if they are to report to work or not for Monday. We have Partner ACS Release 7. I'm having a terrible time finding what I need in the documents because I'm not sure what I should even be looking for!

You can have your incoming lines answered by either an automated attendant or a specific mailbox (and if you have multiple lines, you can treat the lines differently). What is happening right now on Sunday? Do the phones just ring and have no coverage at all? Do they ring and are answered by an auto attendant or mailbox? What do you want to happen, and what do you want to happen for customers calling as opposed to employees calling?

So you could do something like have an auto attendant answer, tell your regular customers that they've reached the office after regular hours, but tell your employees to press a selector code, such as 9, and have that transfer to a mailbox where you record a message for them to hear. You can make that mailbox NOT receive incoming messages, so it would just play the greeting and then disconnect.

OR, if you have multiple lines, take your last line in the hunt sequence, and point it to a mailbox, again where you record a message for the employees. Customers calling in will dial the main number, and unless enough simultaneous calls come in while you're closed, regular customers will not hit the last line and hear the message, but employees will dial the telephone number for the last line directly.

Think about how you want it to work, post back, and I'll be happy to give you instructions to make it happen.
