    Button Icons on T7316E

    Hi,

We recently upgraded from a Nortel BCM200 to an IP Office 500 v2. We did not swap out our handsets (T7316E).

In the BCM, when a caller was on DND, we had a triangle next to their name on the phone. If they were on the phone, we had the triangle AND a phone to the left of the triangle. If a call was on hold, we had the triangle with the phone over the triangle.

In the IP Office 500 v2, we only get a triangle. We don't know if the person is on DND, on a call, or on hold. Is there any way to program that to be just like the BCM?

    Thank you.

There is no way you can have the same functionality when 7316E is connected on the IP office instead of BCM.

Practically there are two different systems and during migration engineering tried their best to ensure the users should have the same feel to which there are use to..

Basically a triangle when connected with IPO reflects that the user is already engaged and if you try to make a call to a Busy or a on hold user with VM enabled the call will route to his VM..

Other way around is you can have the Flare communicator or Softphone that can share you the real time status of the users But that is in particular if you have the Onex for presence and softphone for Flare and user licenses for Softphone in place.

if you like you can raise this as a consultation to us and he have look into it and if required ask engineering if this is a design or we can progress on it..

      Thanks

Thank you. I did notice that the triangle does not flash, as the help documents said it would. The status doesn't matter - the triangle is solid. Can you tell me why it doesn't flash?

Also, how do I request a consultation? I may consider doing that given the number of people that liked it the way the BCM did it.

        Thank you.

          Hi
You can create a Service Request via tthe support website,support.avaya.com.

If the behaviour differs from which is documented, tehre might be two option a product or documentation defect but certainly we should look into it.
