We have a 2 port phone system with Partner mail VS R4 2 port 10 mailbox system. I purchased a used 4 port/40 mailbox expansion card on ebay. Still only 2 inbound lines though. It installed easily and the mailbox admin stated the new mailbox count. I was able to delete and reassign and check voicemails as expected. However inbound calls go straight to extension 10 now. Removing the card reverts everything to the way it was before (standard ring to group). Do I need to reprogram the hunt group or something to get the inbound calling to work the way I want again? Is the system using hunt group or feature settings saved on the expansion card from the previous owner that I need to re-set or overwrite? I'm sort of self-teaching as I was just handed this system to manage. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Tested some more tonight. Actually, inbound lines go straight to "transferring you to the receptionist", which is 10. If 10 doesn't pick up, it just loops again "transferring you to the receptionist". I don't know why it won't default to our attendant menu after the rings specified for one...and for two why it won't kick into x10's mailbox. Any ideas?

Yes, you need to add the extension numbers of the additional voicemail ports to Hunt Group 7.
If the phone at Ext. 10 is an 18-button set, the button for Next Item is the 2nd column over and the 2nd button down.
Press Feature 00 and the Left Intercom button twice
Dial #505-7-10
Look at the bottom line of the display, it will say 2-Not Assigned (this is good)
Now press Next Item and look at the display, keep going until you find the 2 extension numbers that say 1-Assigned. These are the current voicemail ports. You want to ADD the 2 extension number BEFORE the 2 that you find.
So, if you found Ext 32 and 33 assigned to Hunt Group 7, you want to also assign 30 and 31. In this particular case you would dial #505-7-30-1 and #505-7-31-1
Once you have assigned the new ports, everything will work properly, and you can have 4 simultaneous calls in voicemail.Last edited by rbrookes; 04-02-2014, 04:12 AM.

Thanks that got it! I actually lost the original hunt exts and couldn't get any of the examples in the 4.0 manual to work. Then I tried the examples in the 5.0 manual and found the right ones. Figured out I also had to add the ext for the outside line into the hunt group as well. Adding the two prior extensions, which matched the "4 port" example in the 5.0 manual allowed me to get everything functional with the card installed. Thank you for the help!
