    Avaya IP500 Phones Not Registering

    Hi,
    I have an Avaya IP500v2 that I recently connected an IP400 DS30 for 6416d+m phones. The IP500v2 picks up the DS30, however the phones do not register. The DS30 has a solid green light for the unit but the phone ports do not illuminate when connected. The phones do have power as when you press the volume button you can see there is power.


    The version of software is 6.1(12) on the IP500v2 and 5.0(578) on the DS30. The two units are connected together using the Avaya blue cable. I've used an RJ11 and RJ45 cable for the phone and still nothing. Any help to get this working is greatly appreciated.

    Here is your problem: version of software is 6.1(12) on the IP500v2 and 5.0(578) on the expansion module, they should be equal in version but be aware that the expansion modules always shows a number 2 higher as the core software so version 5.0 on a expansion module equals version 3.0 on IP Office.
    Your module must be upgraded to 8.1(12).
    Best it to upgrade the whole lot to 6.1(18) as that is the latest and best build of this version.

      The external module will normally automatically upgrade/downgrade to match the control unit as part of a system reboot.
