Downgrade IP Office R9 to R4.2

Good day
I am new to IP Office but I am trying connect IP Office R9 to a digital expansion module R6.2 I was told that the first step is to downgrade the IP Office to R4.2 then connect the expansion module then upgrade afterwards,
If this is indeed correct can some please tell me how to downgrade the IP Office and indicate if any license will be required.

I don't think you need to downgrade the IP Office main unit. I am sure you can just plug in the expansion module to the IP Office control unit, then upgrade the expansion unit in the normal way? It should show up in the Manager application under the control unit. Just tick the expansion box and click on upgrade.

Hi thank for you help, I tried that but the expansion module did not register with the IP Office and when I check system status there was a alarm "link/resources down on expansion module"
And if I select upgrade from the IP Office I am not getting the option to upgrade the expansion modules

Any suggestions?
