Changed from AT&T to Comcast now no voice msgs

Last week we changed from AT&T to Comcast and now we no longer have our voice mail working and have a studdering dial tone- We had this 10 years ago before we added the voice mail box service from Avaya?

You didn't state what Avaya phone system you are using, but I'm guessing Partner or Legend

The stuttering dial tone indicates that you have a message in your new Comcast voicemail that came with your new Comcast service.

If you don't want to use Comcast's voicemail service, but use your own internal voicemail system, have Comcast turn that service OFF. The number of rings before the call is sent to Comcast's voicemail is less than the number of rings before the call would be sent to your internal voicemail, so that's why the calls end up at Comcast instead of in your own voicemail system.
