    Avaya IP 500 v2 backup

    Hi All,

We have over a dozen IP 500 v2 spread around the country and would like to do central backup of configuration as well as voicemail. I've checked documentation but I can't find anything about backup strategy or even configuration examples. How do I get backup onto ftp, tftp or anywhere else?

I would like to script it and make daily backup.

    Thank you.

    I would start here:

SBC is "Standardized Base Configuration" - Kyle Holladay was developing a way of setting up the IPO's and voicemail Pro that would be the same throughout the organization, just customized for each site.

Download the SBC zip file, open it up, look at the VoicemailFTPBackup folder. Using Fling File Transfer, a couple of batch files, and a Windows scheduled task, it uploads the IPO configuration, the voicemail database, and the custom recordings from the VM\Wavs\enu\Custom directory to an off site FTP server. You would probably have to modify the batch files for your particular situation.

By default the IP Office Manager application keeps a copy of each IP Office system's configuration each time you edit it. So if you use a single PC for your admin you already have a set of backup configurations.

For Voicemail Pro its up to you. The voicemail server can be configure to do automatic daily/weekly/monthly backups and can be set to send those backups to a remote FTP server.
