Softphone & physic phone on same line - Call waiting name

    Hi,

I'm currently working in a small/medium business, using Avaya IP Office (Manager 10.1).
I have some questions, I'll be very glad to have some answers !

First, I would like to have a softphone AND a real phone on the same user, same line. Which box I have to check in the Manager ? At the moment, the user can log in only on the Softphone OR on the physical phone.

Secondly, usually when there is a call waiting on a physical phone, the name of this waiting call is displayed on the phone. But for a user, nothing is displayed, there's only an indication.
How could I activate the function to display the name of the waiting call ?

    Thank you very much,

    G'day !

    Hello,

inn IP Office you can only have 1x an extension/user number and therefore if you login your softphone the physical hardphone will be logged off and then logged in again when you log out your softphone. If you want prevent that, you will need create a second user/extension and internal twin them via the mobility tab in the user configuration. Internal twinning will then show for the softphone the same number and it will be only reachable by dialing the hardphone number.

      Hi,

Thank you for your answer !

I've created a new extension/user and twinned it with the 1st extension/user, but when I try to log in on SoftPhone, it displays "No Licence".

And do you have any idea about the waiting call displayed name ?

      Cheers,

      Max

As far as I am aware, only the Flare app is allowed to be logged in as a softphone at the same time as a desk phone. This is allowed by selecting "Enable Flare" and Flare Mode: "Simultaneous" under the User tab in Manager.

          Thank you for your answer.

I've enabled the "Flare Mode" and set it up on "Simultaneous" but I still can't log on both phones at the same time...

            Hello,

for using a softphone oyu need at least a "Teleworker" License and a valid Endpoint License for the softphone. The softphone box under User must be checked as well. Via the below link you will find an overview about the user licenses.

            http://marketingtools.avaya.com/knowledgebase/businesspartner/ipoffice/mergedProjects/productdescription/index.html?user_licenses.htm

I have tried the setup on my Lab IP Office and it works perfectly. SO if you get the "no licenses" you might have no more Endpoint Licenses left. See the picture belwo I have twinned the phone Demo 3 with my fixed phone and I can receive calls on both sets. Below you will as well see a second call on the softphone.

If you like to use a softphone which is not related to a enduser licences you need to use Flare in "Voice" onyl mode.

            Regards

I checked the callwait on my physical phone and I see the calling name of the waiting call.

                  Hi,

                  Thanks for your help.

About the two phones on a same user, I guess I have no more license...!

And about the waiting call, it's an other case.
There is only a physical phone. There is a light when there is a call waiting, but not the name or number of the waiting call.
With an other user, there is a light AND the name/number of the waiting call, so I guess I can do it on the other user as well.
Which settings do I have to check (or uncheck) ..?

                  Thank you very much !
