Authorization codes to override barred dial strings

    Hi All.

I have to set up authorization codes (not account codes) for a user who wants to block the ability of unauthorized users to call anywhere, but instead, send them to a receptionist if they dial anything... ie 91XXXXXXXXX, 901XXXXXXXXXX, etc

I can create the authorization codes, and make them work without fail, however I can't seem to get the call to say "Hey the authorization code is wrong, so send it to extension 201" because, from what I see in the monitor is, as soon as they dial 9 it hops to check the authorization code.

Is this even possible? If so, how?

    Regards

    Hello,

Please be advised that it is not possible to route a call to an operator if the authorization code is wrong. On the failed call/authorization user has to dial the operator to reach.

There are two methods to force a user to enter an authorization code in order to complete dialing an external call. When this occurs, the user must enter an authorization code that is associated with them or the user rights to which they as associated. If an incorrect authorization code is entered 3 times, the user is blocked from further attempts for the next minute.

To Force Authorization Codes on All External Calls:
A user can be required to enter an authorization code for all external calls. This is done by selecting Force Authorization Code on the User | Telephony tab.

To Force Authorization Codes on Specific Calls:
To require entry of an authorization code on a particular call or call type, the Force Authorization Code option should be selected in the short code settings. This can be used in user, user rights or system short codes in order to apply its effect to a user, group of users or all users respectively. You need to ensure that the user cannot dial the same number by any other method that would by pass the short-code, for example with a different prefix.

For your reference you can go through this document to check out the options of authorization code: http://www.ipofficeinfo.com/pdf/Auth...des(TT156).pdf
