Upgrade IPO 500V2 from Release 11.1 to Rel 12.0.0.0.0 Build 56 and lost licenses

    Hi there,

I upgraded my lab IPO 500V2 from 11.1.3.1.0 Build 34 to 12.0.0.0.0 Build 56 using Manager and all my licenses shows obsolete.Tried recreate the card and got the same problem. Under System Status -->Service alarm , I have two alarms about licenses.

No valid Essential Edition license present and No valid Software Upgrade license present.

I thought we can upgrade direct from 11.1 to 12.0 without using upgrade license Release12.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Moe.

Your system needs a new set of R12 licenses - either via purchasing an upgrade license, or a totally new set of licenses. If you're system in under an Avaya IPOSS support contract, you can get the new licenses on request, otherwise you need to purchase an upgrade licenses from an Avaya IP Office reseller.

All major IP Office upgrades (N to N+1) have required upgrade licenses. However, with 11.0, 11.1, 11.1.2, 11.1.3 and 11.1.3.1, it has been quite a long time (4 years) since the last IP Office release that has needed new licenses, so it has become an upgrade step that people have forgotten.
