Cannot Screen Pop Outlook IPOv6.14 Phone Manager Pro

I have been trying to screen pop Outlook in Phone Manager Pro and cannot get it to work. The user guide and installation guide says MAPI has to be installed. But when I went to Advanced Aps class they said that is a typo and TAPI has to be installed. TAPI is installed. I had the customer turn off Windows firewall but they also use Norton and I am wondering if Norton is blocking the screen pop.

Also, MAPI is a part of Microsoft Exchange Server. This customer does not have an exchange server. I cannot find any documentation that says the customer needs exchange for outlook screen pops to work.

Any thoughts?

Phone Manager Pro does not use TAPI to do a screen POP. Assuming you have everything setup correcting in Phone Manger Pro under the screen pop tab the problem you are probably having is that the phone number of the person calling has to exactly match the phone number in Outlook. If the caller's number is 7204445555 then the number in outlook must be 7204445555. It can not be (720) 444-5555. No meta characters can be in the telephone number in outlook.

One easy way to test if this is the issue is to setup a contact for someone in the office and put in their extension number as the only phone number. For example 203. make sure that 203 is the only contact phone number and call from 203 to the extension that you have Phone Manager Pro running on and see if it pops a record. If it does at least you know the program is functional and it is most likely an issue with the format of the telephone numbers in Outlook. You may also want to use the -debug option in the target area of the short cut you use to start Phone Manager Pro and it will give you more detailed information about what it is trying to do including screen popping information.

Outlook phone number format

This is exactly what I thought. But, I cannot figure out how to change the format of the phone number in Outlook 2003. When I type in the contact phone number, when I hit save or tab, it saves the number with the parenthesis and dashes, even though I do not type them in.

Also, this customer is NOT using an Exchanger for Outlook email, so I don't even know if MAPI is installed on their PC. The user and install manual says MAPI must be installed for Outlook screen pops to work.
