    Phones not recongnizing dialed digits

Good morning, we recently had an IP Office (Rel 9) installed with Avaya 1408 sets. We are having issues with dialing numbers. When dialing, the phones are not recongnized the digits being pressed. (They are not appearing on the phone set screen nor dialing them) I assume this is a setting in the system but not sure what or where to look.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks,

The phones are working and you can pick up and receive dial tone but when you press the buttons on the phone nothing happens? That wouldn't be a setting on the phones, that sounds like it would just be a very major issue.

Yes the phones work perfectly otherwise. All the features work and when you pick up the reciever you have a dial tone. It almost seems like if you press the keys to quickly the phone won't pick up the digits dialed. A lot of the users have complained about the same issue so I know it isn't a local phone issue.

If you do something like check voicemail, does the DTMF work correctly? If they dial an internal extension does that work correctly? Are they using POTS lines, and if so is the system squared so when they pickup and dial they're accessing the outside line?

Please bare with me as I am not a phone guy but just the local onsite administrator but can answer most of the questions that may arise trying to figure this out...saying that, no one has complained about checking their voicemail (Programmed button on the phone set as well so that could be why). One person did mention he was having the same issue when calling an internal extension. We have a T1 connection for our PRI and 4 COTs if that helps answer that question. When they dial an outside line they are required to dial "9" than the number. So when they pick up the reciever they are just getting the system dial tone until after they dial the number they are calling.

          Hope this helps.
