9.1 Softphones- does this make any sense?

I am not getting the logic:

My MAC users have been disenfranchised for a year because video softphone for MAC broke when Apple upgraded to Mavericks (10.8 or 9) and Avaya refused to 'fix' it. Now I am about to try to upgrade to 9.1 because they finally fixed it for MAC users- but simultaneously they discontinue Video Softphone for Windows users??????

Now Windows users are supposed to move to "Communicator', but Communicator does not support video except to a pt to pt Scopia XT5 connection (not even to another Communicator user?) What good is that for 99% of IPO base?

So at this point My Mac users might be able to video call other Mac users but not Windows users????

This is being called "Enhanced UNIFIED Communications" ????

Please tell me I got this wrong or that someone has a plan to fix this as I am really starting to disbelieve my eyes and ears on IPO feature releases.

Have a look at Counterpath Bria - after all that is what IP Office Softphone is.

sounds like an idea, why in world does Avaya want us to do that

So, nice technical response that I may check into.....

Isn't it nice that I pay Avaya for PowerUser and other licenses and they want me to drink their 'unified' kool aid yet they can't orchestrate their use of these tools to actually provide a solution rather than some uncoordinated bunch of piece parts. So I would have to go buy 3rd party solutions that they already own the code for and I already paid them for, to roll my own version....god bless them.

Maybe someday...but been waiting over a year for even this little piece to make sense and its not getting much better unified.....maybe 10.0 will be the motherload (like Windows 10.0?)

SidePiece1: Guess I am not about to consider giving up Go-to-Meeting for that fractured and incomplete announcement of Web conferencing coming back to IP Office that would appear to bring me as much heartburn as this piece has......at least not yet.

SidePiece2: If they don't replace that clunky Salesforce adaptor (that breaks constantly in Windows and also doesn't work for my MAC users) with OpenCTI before Salesforce discontinues adaptors this year, I may be forced into more drastic action that just venting and putting up with it.
