    IPO SE primary server freezing

    Hi all.

I have a server edition primary server linux based that stops responding.
If you press any button on all the IP phones they don’t respond. You won’t make or receive calls. IP Office Manager will not be able to reboot the server or change any configuration.
When I SSH into the server there is an error ‘Cannot allocate memory”. Logging in via the command line takes many attempts. This has occurred many times and usually resolved by rebooting.

    How can this be fixed?

Had a similar issue a few months ago after upgraded to V9.1. Later Avaya support said the issue may come from onex but I had already downgraded the system to 9.0.

Good to hear from you. What exactly about onex?

Onex is on the primary server and the support said it may have connection error to some expansions. The response was too late and I had already downgraded the system so there has no way to prove or test it.

I had a similar issue on 9.1 SE. I had the need for SQL on VoiceMailPro so I swap it to Windows Servers, afterwards the Primary was rebooting occasionally. I received a fix from Avaya for it.

Does Windows VMPro work with ServerEdition? I didn't test that so far.

                    Hello fwilkepcs,

it works, as you need to move it to windows if your customer wnats to use the SQL building blocks in the application builder. It works perfectly as it works with the application server.

                    Regards,

                    Lothar

Indeed Onex portal on the primary server was causing the freezing. I have many expansion systems and most of them are usually down especially after hours due to power cuts.
I have noticed that when most expansion systems were unreachable Onex had errors and hence the freezing.
After stopping its services the server never froze again.
I would like to start Onex again and fix such that it does not cause the freezing.
What will be the fix? I have tried deleting the expansion systems from the providers on Onex but they keep coming back.
