Avaya IP Office 500 v1 PCS06 system unit PSU problem

We have an IP Office 500 v1 system unit (with expansion board) which has been running on a UPS fine for the past few years but it recently died with a suspected faulty (internal) PSU. Can the PSU be fixed? If we get a second hand unit can we swap out the modules and CF card will it work?

I'm led to believe the PSU on the v1 model is weak (especially @ 240v) so it might happen again. Does anyone know if the v2 units suffer the same issue?
Providing we can get hold of one, can we use a v2 PSU in a v1 chassis?

    Any feedback much appreciated!

Yes the PSU can be fixed by Avaya, repair costs are low.
Yes you can use a 2nd hand unit and put in all the existing hardware, make sure you have a backup of the config.
BUT, a new 2nd hand system is way more expensive as a repair by Avaya unless you get the unit below 40 euro.
Yes you can use a IP500v2 PSU but it invalidate any warranty.

Replace it with a 500v2 PSU (or use this opportunity to upgrade to a 500v2), don't even bother with a 500v1 power supply. There's a thermosistor that overheats and eventually dies, the unit will run fine after the failure until you lose power and then it just won't turn on anymore.
