    Open office door

    Good morning everyone

I'm from Brazil and bought an IP OFFICE 500 V2.

I wonder if this machine can open doors using the common intercom system I have in the company.

    What is the procedure?

    My programmer is version 9.0.6.0

    I appreciate the help!

Yes. The IP500 V2 has a switch that can be used to connect the input into a door relay which itself operates the door lock (the IP500 V2 switch can handle the voltage to operation the door lock directly).

Within the IP Office configuration you can configure short codes and/or phone buttons that will operate the switch.

You need to hunt out details of the switch (its labelled Ext O/P on the back of the control unit) in the "Deploying Avaya IP Office Platform IP500 V2" manual.

What model intercom system are you using? Usually if you have a telephone port on it you can connect it directly to the PBX so it rings a group of extensions, if anyone answers they can hit a code which triggers the door relay that's normally built into the intercom itself. Otherwise as markgallagher stated the IP Office has a built in switch that can operate the door relay.

It is a bad idea to switch a door lock with the build in contacts, these are not a real relay but a transistor switch which cannot cope with high currents and peak voltages.
A door lock is a electric coil which can produce high voltages when turning off and have peak high current when turning on, a mechanical realay must be used.

Thank you very much for your help!

I read the document, I understood that I can make an electric lock with the IP OFFICE.

I did not like I can speak over the intercom.
I need some device to connect the mono intercom phone on IP OFFICE?

What is the solution to speak on the intercom?

What model intercom do you have? Does it support connecting to a standard telephone? If so you can just connect it as an analog trunk port if you have one available on the IP Office.

The intercom is AM-PPR08 - Amelco.

Still did not get information if it is possible to interconnect trunk position.

The only product of integration that I thought would be this AM-PPR - Amelco but from what I saw did not understand if the to resolve the issue.

              Anyone have any ideas?

Each distributor of a Door System does normally support, or have a telecom module which allows a standard analogue line (analogue phone set) to be connected between the IP Office and your door system.

We have already done several installations with different brand's of door systems. The only requirements was an analogue line. As soon as you ring at the door the doro systrem will dial a preconfigured number and ring a hunt group or user.

When a user answers the door call he can dial DTMF tones, for example, *8 to activate the door relay.

I did a Google on the system mantioned but it is all Portugues and that is beyond my knowledge. But looking at the installation pictures I would say no, no telecom interface.
