Tech help please with questions on a partner mail vs R5.0 and Avaya Partner ACS

Hi, we have had a perfectly functioning partner mail vs R5.0 working for the last two years or so but one day the voice mail stopped working for unknown reasons (no lightning or power failures that we know of). When hitting intercom 777 we would only get a busy signal. We tried rebooting it, resetting it through the system, re-seating the two port memory card that was in the only slot available, re-seating the whole module, etc. No matter what we did we still got the busy signal when hitting intercom 777.
Someone sent me a new module and card to try. The new module is an Avaya Partner ACS module with two slots and the one card is a 4 port card. If I try to use my old module with the new 4 port card I still get the busy signal. If I try the new module with the old two port card, intercom 777 will work but it tells me it's in a test mode which I don't know how to get out of. If I use the four port card or both the four port card and the two port card in both slots I no longer get the busy signal but it just keeps ringing after hitting intercom 777. Can anyone offer some advise? Thank you very much.

Same answer as the other forum, you've replaced a Partner Mail VS with a Partner Messaging. The PCMCIA cards don't work on the other systems. The port assignments are different between VS and Messaging. The VS has a 2 port PCMCIA card, so it activates the LAST 2 ports of the slot, the Messaging has a 4 port PCMCIA card, which activates the FIRST 4 port of the slot. The port extension numbers depend on what other cards are in the system, and what slots they are in.

Go into System Programming, and look at #505-7 for every possible extension number (10 through 57). You will find 2 that are assigned, all the rest will be unassigned. Assign the 4 extensions BEFORE the current ones, and unassign the current ones, and you will be good.
