For upgrade 9.0 to 9.1 you need licences of upgrade and the .bin files.
For update 9.0. to 9.0.4 you need the .bin files.

    Best Regards

www.avaya-learning.com is a good way to start learning IP Office.

You can find update/upgrade information in the latest IP Office Technical Bulletin
            Bulletin No 183.

Upgrading instructions can be found in the Knowledgebase, respectively in the installation manual.

All very well but I would not recommend to perform a upgrade without some experience and training.
What do you do when it goes wrong? That is NOT in the documents....

Manager: File - preferences - Directories - Binary Directory.
Change to the folder where you placed the new files that you will upgrade to.

                File - Advanced - Upgrade.
you will see the current version and the new one.

this can take up to one hour.

** be careful, read the material in advance as said on previously comments.
Maybe you need license to go to a major release.
Also do a backup and save the configuration files
Read release notes from avaya. Specially if you are going from version earlier that 8 to 9.

Anyone reading this be aware if you upgrade using only Binary files only as per above post there are pitfalls there depending on current system version and version are upgrading to. At very least you don't get phone files included with Binaries files and it's probable that your system may upgrade but the phones will not find the required files. As havel3 posted be aware if you aren't experienced and confident doing this.there are pitfalls, and may very well have a system with non functioning phones. Also for example a 9.0 upgrading to 9.1 is license required.

                    IP500 V2 upgrade from 8.1 to the latest 11.1

Is it possible to make direct upgrade IP500 V2 from 8.1 to the latest 11.1?
No need to have two stage process as for Server Edition?
