IP Phone 9608 (or 9621) as SIP Ednpoint

Does anyone managed to connect (register) Avaya 9608 or 9621 phone to IP Office as a SIP Endpoint? I have tried hard and failed. Any assistance, any instruction will be highly appreciated.

    Thx

It won't work. For normal* operation the IP Office does not support 9600 Series phones running SIP firmware (H323 only).

[*I said normal operation as an IP Office can temporarily support 9600 SIP phones when its being used as a branch system in an Aura network when the link to Aura is down for some reason. However in that role the 9600 SIP phones are registered to the Aura and only use the IP Office for emergency fallback]

      Thank you for reply.

Just for information: I managed to register 9608 as an Avaya SIP endpoint and worked just fine. What I also managed to understand that even 96x1 can register to IP Office as SIP Endpoint, provided those phones have SIP firmware already in.

Do you have any document clearly stating that 96x1 is not supported as SIP on IP Office?

No it didn't work just fine, its probably working as a basic SIP phone. None of the non basic features such as the IP Office directory will be working.
