IP Office - Assistant Access to Boss' Voicemail and Call History

    Hello-

I'm coming up empty in documentation and with my partner, and searching here didn't bring up a thread discussing this issue.

We've recently implemented One-X portal with our IP500v2 (9.1.6). The users love the call history and voicemail tools. Immediately, the Executive Assistant's are asking to use this for their bosses' extension(s).

First, I can't find any way to grant one User the ability to see another User's VMs and call history in One-X. Do I need to be using a different tool?

Second, even if I give the assistant the bosses' passwords, (My Security Guy's having a coronary right now over this idea.) what if they cover more than one boss? Do they have to run One-X for Boss A in Chrome, Boss B in Firefox, and themselves in IE? (Boss C is out of luck, unless I install Opera.)

How can give my users this access in an actually usable form?

There is no way for them to do this in 1xp.

They can have a button programmed on their phone for the bosses voicemail box, as long as on 9.1 (which you are)

Programmed button just let's them hear the messages, I'm looking for visual browsing.

Well, thanks anyway for replying. I guess I just have to wait until Avaya decides to join the 21st Century, (which will happen about the year 2116).

Well apparently 2116 has arrived but you get 1/10 for thoroughness of reading the manuals since there were two new features added for this as part of IP Office Release 9.1.

Method 1: To have boss mailbox status shown in their Visual Voice and one-X Portal
In the user (assistant) configuration, added a Source Number of Uxxxx where xxxx is the user name of the boss. They then get message waiting indication for the bosses mailbox and can access it via visual voice or one-X Portal.

Method 2: To have boss mailbox status shown via a dedicated button
Add a Visual Voice button to the assistant's phone set with the boss user in the button's Action Data.

For both methods above, if you add a Vyyyy where yyyy is the assistant's user name to the bosses settings then they can access the bosses mailbox without having to dial the mailbox pin.
