IPO - Incoming Call Routes and DID Ranges

    Hey troops

Our friendly LEC has provided me a DID range that runs from xx32 to xx71. My internal DIDs run from xx20 to xx59. Is there a clever way to use the internal call routing destination to say "take the last 2 digits of the incoming number, subtract 12, then send the call to the result" ? Because that would be awesome, if completely unexpected.

    Thanks

    Not 100%, but...

You could think about changing internal numbers to match external DID's. That is what we normally would do for any new installation. It's always easier to know external number xxxxx300 goes to extn 300. Other way round, its clear that ext 322 will have external number xxxxx322

As ICR is basically the place where you 'route' incoming DID's to the user, you have to do that. There is a small tool in Manager called MSN Configuration, found in Menu|Tools. You can use it to to create large number of consecutive DID entries. Just point the first DID to a user and it will do the rest. Try it, you will see how it works.

If you want to keep everything the same, but want to make it easier to add all those ICR's...in tools, you can use the MSN configurator.

This allows you to input your leading DID number, specify the range, and the starting extension number....

It will then go and assign your 1st DID to the 1st ext, 2nd DID to the next highest Ext, etc....
