DID range 99xx

I just got a DID range for a customer this week.

The last for digits are 99xx
And they will have 4 digit extensions.

I wish to match their DID range and extensions and I was wondering to dial "0" instead of "9" to get outbound calls.

Just change on ARS 9N for 0N ?

Anything else to consider?

You don't necessarily need to match the whole DDI on your incoming call route. You only need to match the last two digits. So you could still have your internal user extensions such as 4000 to 4099. eg. An incoming call route set to match incoming number XX with destination 40#.

If you still prefer to have the extension match the full 4-digit DDI and use 0 as you external dialing prefix then you also need to change the 9 for 0 wherever it appears in the Prefix/National Prefix/International Prefix fields of the individual lines.

I would say that 0 is a bad choice since a leading 0 is already widely used to distinguish national and international dialing. Pick a prefix from 1 to 8 will be less painful in the long term.
