Automated Attendant Ports

Please confirm my understanding about Automated Attendant ports are correct

IPO Preferred or Server Edition VMPro Ports are used for Automated Attendant, Voicemail, Conversation recording.

By default we get 4 VMPro Ports for Preferred Edition and 2 VMPro ports for every SE licenses, for more ports additional VMPro ports licenses are required.

To conclude VMPro ports are share for the above mentioned features.

The preferred edition is Voice-Mail Pro. Then you aquire additional ports in 4-port licenses. The SE license is for embedded voice-mail. You would upgrade this voice-mail in 2 port licenses. I believe the max ports are six.??

NO NO NO to your Server Edition answer. Embedded voicemail is the basic voicemail option that can be used by IP500 and IP500 V2 systems. It is not supported by systems in a Server Edition network.

For Server Edition, Voicemail Pro run as a service on the primary server. As said you get two channels for each Server Edition license but you can also add additional channel licenses. The maximum number of channels depends on the actual server hardware (up to 250 if running on a Dell R630 platform).

So, you reference 2 types of licenses that should NOT be together.

FIRST IP500 would use a Preferred Edition License, which yes gives you 4 ports. If you need more, you can purchase "VM Pro Add XX". can add in increments of 1, 2 etc...

With SERVER EDITION:
Preferred Edition License will show as OBSOLETE, as server edition does NOT use this license.
Rather, each node in a server edition network needs an "SE License" which resides on the primary server. For each "SE License" you have, you get 2 ports of VM Pro.
