Hi, on a server edition 9 system, with only the primary server, with voice mail pro, and many hunt groups , the trunks sip are also directly configured on V2 expansions.
What happens if Primary Server fails?

I think certainly the voice mail pro service does not work.
and can not access to manage the platform.

Can users continue to make and receive calls ?
and hunt group still receive calls?

And the primary server failed and expansion v2 restart and at the same time what scenario i would have.

I read a lot of documentation but i would like a confirmation.
And is it absolutely necessary to install the secondary server?

It all entirely depends on where the users, groups and extensions have been configured.

Without a secondary server, any extensions/users/groups/trunks locale to an expansion system will be able to continue making and receiving calls locally. You just won't have calls between expansion systems as they are all route via the primary and you won't have voicemail or one-X Portal.

Having a secondary would allow inter-expansion functions to continue making calls between systems. It would also support re-registration for IP extensions from the primary and give you voicemail.

Going to IP Office Select mode you can configure traffic between systems that don't have to go via the primary or secondary.
