We're running a physical server Windows XP, with IP Office version 6.0 (7) installed on it. I've set up a Windows 7 virtual machine on another server, and have installed IP Office version 8.0 (1803).
As a test, I took the exported config from 6 and imported it into 8, and it appears to be healthy (I haven't let the new server connect to the Avaya hardware, yet). That is, I see trunks, extensions, call flow etc.
I suspect there are greeting files, voice mail files, and config files that I would need to copy to the new server, but I can see there are differences that might cause some problems with this plan.
So - what's the proper / recommended method instead of doing what I am doing? I'm trying to get off of this physical XP machine ASAP.
