G700 console port

Hi,

I want to access console port at g700 media gateway , so I used console cable and managed to access. but i have a problem, where I couldn't type any words.
When the "login >" appear.. I want to type root, but nothing happen.

1. Why I cannot type?
2. Cable issue?

I've only seen this issue when using a USB adapter to connect to a laptop without a serial port.
