    Upgrading 9600 IP series firmware

We have two types of 9600 series IP phones in our environment - 9611 and 9650. When attempting to upgrade firmware on 9611 from 6.2.2 to 6.2.4, a couple of handful of these devices hiccuped in various spots during the process. Examples:

    1. Froze at HTTP: 1 200
    2. Froze at Discover x.x.x.x
    3. Continuosly reboot itself
    4. IP address conflict

I attempted "Clear" function, device might come back on line and complete process successfully, or device would freeze at either 1. or 2. For the later ones, I moved to "Reset Values". I could not succeed with just one attempt via "Reset Values", I had to attemt 2 to 3 times on a device, and again it would either freeze at 1. or 2, before I finally got the 9611 back up to adding extension number and confirming upgrade was successful.

I have watched the devices go through the DCHP VLAN registration process, go to the IP address of the HTTP server and acknowledge the new firmware files. I have watched the entire download, save to flash, etc process complete successfully. But after all that, its when the hiccups begin.

In the past 2 years, we have only experienced this hiccup process with our 9650's, this is the first firmware upgrade we are experience this with the 9611's.

As we have 5 buildings within a 4 block radius, and a site in another state, manually having to check hiccuped devices and attempt several times to fix is getting a bit frustrating, time consuming, and is not cost effective. Can anyone tell me please why we are having this issue.

We are currently on CM 5.2, upgrading in 2 weeks to 6.2.

    Thank you in advance
    Cheri
