Connecting 1616 set to BCM450

I have been tryng to connect an Avaya 1616i set to our BCM450 ver6 with no success.

First question. Is possible.
Second question. If so, why does the set gets stuck on "Discover 10.10.99.10) which is the BCM's address.

The 1616 is not supported on a BCM. It is not possible.
