    Forwarding current call to VM

    Hi,

I know this is a simple question that I should know the answer to but I have no one to ask.

I am able to answer a coworker's phone number (let's call it B) from my phone (A) when they are unavailable/not at their desk.

Often, the caller wants to leave a voicemail. How do I transfer their current call directly to B's voicemail? I have tried pressing the Forward button; the Transfer button and then the Voicemail (message) big icon; but nothing works.

    Please help me out!

I would inform the caller to hang on the line. Then I would hit transfer, then dial the voicemail extension number to get into the voicemail system, once system answers, dial the person's voicemail box number and his transfer again for caller to listen and leave a message.

It would help to know what system you are using, and which phone you are using on the system. Many are set up with a "Transfer to VM" or "Direct to VM" button, which you press and then dial your coworker's extension number. These will send the call to the mailbox without ringing the phone again.

Or, there may be an envelope button on your phone, which you press while speaking with the outside caller, the screen prompts you for your coworker's extension number, you confirm that you dialed it correctly by seeing the name on your display, and if correct pressing the Select soft key to send the call to the mailbox.

There even may be a shortcut dialing method, by Transferring the call to "#" and the extension number, to end up in the mailbox directly.
