How to access emails on a 1603L handset (using buttons on the handset)?

    Hi All,

I am wondering how to go about accessing voice mail messages through a 1603L handset.

When I consult the manual for this handset (Avaya 1603/1603SW/1603-I/1603SW-I IP Deskphone User Guide) it simply states "...follow instructions provided by your system administrator." under the heading 'Logging into your voice mail' (on page 19).

The challenge is that I am the system administrator, and whilst I have setup email forwarding of messages, I would like to tell my colleagues how to access voice mail messages through this handset.

Which button(s) need to be pressed in order to access voice mail?

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    David

Which telephone systems do you have? What type of voicemail server?

      Hi Mark,

We are using Avaya IP Office Manager (from a dedicated Windows 7 computer).

I did not setup the phone system so I don't know a great deal about it, however hopefully the screen capture below will give some insights -

Any further help or hints will be greatly appreciated.

      Kind Regards,

      David

Manager is the software to manage the phone system, the phone system itself is an Avaya IP Office.

From the 1603 dial *17, it's the default short code to access voicemail. Otherwise you'll have to go through the Short Code programming and find (or create) a shortcode with "Voicemail Collect" as the feature.
