Hi J79 expert.
We are testing the wifi capabilities of J179 IP Phone with J100 wireless module, with firmware: 4.0.0.0.21.
When trying to connect it to our enterprise campus SSID ( 802.1X WPA2 Enterprise (PEAP MSCHAPv2) it gets a connection error due to certificate.
Question 1:
I configured the Wi-Fi part through the webUI. However under the Wi-Fi section there is no field for the certificate. Where do you configure this?
Question 2:
Are you sure this client is compatible with enterprise wifi 802.1X WPA2 Enterprise (PEAP MSCHAPv2)?
I see a ‘Certificates’ section but it is not clear if this is where we should upload our trusted certificate. There should be a mention in the Wi-Fi section for the certificate.
Question 3
In the wifi section, even after selecting the WPA2 Enterprise security (802.1X auth.) option, the WEP menu is still visible and configurable underneath. Shouldn’t it disappear?
This seems like a UI bug.
Question 4
Ingeneralk, do you have a "detailed" guide on how to deploy J179 with J100 wifi ?
