Surge Protection:

  • External or internal depending on the configuration of the control unit.
  • Systems are completely protected internally only if they have an 820D1 or 820D2 cabinet, a protected power supply and protected line modules. All three must be present.
  • Cabinets are identified by the FCC label on the left outside panel and the metal grounding rail at the top.
  • Power Supplies are identified by the amber on-off switch and ground lug.
  • The Amber light should be lit when the switch is in the on position. If it is not lit, the outlet is dead, not wired properly or improperly grounded.
  • Line Module is identified by the W/P sticker above the third line jack and the metal tab at the top of the line board.
  • Systems require external protection with an 820D cabinet, when an unprotected power supply or an unprotected line module is present.
  • 145A/146A/147A surge protectors should be installed on systems that are not fully protected.
  • 145A/146A/147A surge protectors should not be installed on fully protected systems. If installed they should be removed and returned to the MSL.
  • All components, 820D, 820D1 and 820D2 cabinets, protected and unprotected power supplies, and protected and unprotected line modules are completely compatible.

FCC Registration Number:

  • AS593M-13529-KF-E.
  • REN 0.8A.
  • Fully Protected Key System under FCC Rules, Part 68.
  • Complies with FCC Rules, Part 15, Subpart J for Class A computing device suitable for commercial use (likely to cause interference in a residential area).
