A shutdown may be done via the (reset system
shutdown) command or by pressing the (Boot/Shutdown)
button.
(Boot/Shutdown) button
method:
- Use a pen or pin (not a pencil) to press the (Boot/Shutdown)
button on the front of the DEFINITY AUDIX alarm board to initiate a
shutdown.
- On the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) on the front of the
Multi-Function Board (MFB), 'M_SHUT' flashes on and off for
about 3 minutes.
- When 'M_SHUT' becomes steady, the shutdown is complete.
Remote or local terminal shutdown
(DEFAUD up and running):
- On the DEFINITY AUDIX command line, type (reset system
shutdown).
- Press (F3) and the shutdown begins when all the DEFAUD
ports are idle. To force all ports to be idled, press (F3) when
page 2 of the form is displayed.
- When the shutdown is complete, the remote connection is
dropped. If you are onsite you can watch the LCD on the front
of the DEFINITY AUDIX Multi-Function Board (MFB). 'M_SHUT'
flashes on and off for about 3 minutes. When 'M_SHUT' becomes
steady, the shutdown is complete.
NOTES:
- If the DEFINITY AUDIX is being shutdown for a power outage,
it begins to reboot as soon as power is restored.
- When a reboot is in progress, if the you watch the
LCD, the following (times are approximate) is seen:
- BTEST (40 seconds)
- BOOT (10 seconds)
- OSINIT (15 seconds)
- AINIT (3 minutes)
- ADX (This indicates that the reboot is complete.)
- If the DEFINITY AUDIX does not begin to reboot
automatically, push the <BOOT Shutdown> button on
TN2169/TN2170, alarm board. (Or to start the reboot from a local or
remote terminal, if 'command menu:' is not displayed,
simultaneously press <CTRL> and <C> twice. When
'command menu:' is displayed, enter <5> and press
<RETURN> to begin the reboot.)
