Details

  • When giving the callers choices, or a 'menu' to choose from each of the items must be given a selector code action of 1-5 (or 1-6 in Merlin Messaging) to define where the calls will go.

NOTE: If action code 2-Transfer to Submenu is chosen, the submenu must have been created before directing a Selector Code to it.

  • When programming, or modifying, the Main Menu the Merlin Mail will guide you through each of the steps, but remember: the system does not call the main recording a greeting or a directory, rather it refers to it as 'The Prompt'.
  • There are no default menus, however the default selector code actions are: selector codes 1-4 direct extension transfer (5), and selector codes 5-9 not used.

Problem Clarification

The Merlin Mail Auto Attendant offers two major menus, a Day and a Night Menu, to assist callers in directing where their call will be routed. You will have a day and night menu for every auto attendant. These menus give up to two minutes of information on the business, as well as 'prompts' for the callers to choose in routing themselves to the proper person/department. This recording is not to be confused with the 'Systems Greeting' that plays just before the main menus.
