Problem Clarification

This document describes how to program Line Assignments. The Merlin Mail and its Attendants will answer any trunk that is assigned to its Calling Group. However if it is a Release 3, Merlin Legend Mail or Merlin Messaging and more than one Attendant is in use, then individual lines must be assigned to each of the Attendants to answer. You cannot assign pools of lines, only individual lines, regardless of their pool affiliation. All calls entering the business on lines assigned to the appropriate Attendant will be answered per the Delayed Answer option chosen under System Parameters.

If you delete a line from Attendant 2, 3, or Attendant 4 on Merlin Messaging; that line is AUTOMATICLLY reassigned to Attendant 1. The only way to eliminate a line from any Attendant answering is to remove it from the Mail Calling Group.

The system default is to assign ALL lines to Attendant 1.
