Example of One X communicator. Dialing rules settings implemented at German customer.

German dialing rules can become complex because of the length of national numbers is variable.

Problem Clarification

The dialing-rules in the communicator seems to be changed. There is now way for us to make it work correctly...
Issues :

  1. When we enter the PBX-main-prefix in the Communicator and dial a number in the canonical format (e.g. +49 (40) 361304-335 ) the Communicator does not recognize that "335" is an internal extension and dials out over the trunk.
  2. In the dialing-rules of the Communicator the field for the length of the national telephone-numbers is unclear.
  3. For some numbers dialed, the One X Communicator adds one or two extra zero (0) digits.

Cause

Some dialing rule parameters were misunderstood.
E.164 Format is composed of : +country-code (area-code) PBX-Main-prefix extension-number
 

Solution


 

 

1. What was missing and unclear with the OneXC manual around the PBX-Main-prefix is simply an explanation on how the dialing rules are based, especially the PBX-Main-prefix parameter :
