Details

Cannot enable ADAC.
Unable to enable ADAC on ERS3500 globally.
It was found that the configuration of ADAC for ERS 3500 is slightly different from the other stackables.
Because the ERS 3500 switches have limited QoS resources, the ADAC implementation differs from the other Ethernet Routing Switch platforms. It is necessary to free up some QoS resources in order for ADAC to apply the configuration on ports.

Problem Clarification

Unable to enable ADAC globally on the the ERS3500.

Cause

IN ERS 3500, It is necessary to free up some QoS resources.
The ASIC has only four slices (precedences) for all the ports. All these slices are occupied by default (one used by ARP, two by QoS and one by DHCP). In order to enable ADAC/IPSG/UDP Fwd, at least one precedence should be freed.

Solution

The ASIC has only four slices (precedences) for all the ports. The precedences used by QoS can be freed by issuing the following commands:

“(config)# qos if-group name class trusted”
“(config)# qos if-assign port all name”

After issuing these commands ADAC can be enabled globally, without any problem.
