Session Manager : ASM rejects calls with 407 Proxy Authentication Required from trusted entity link

Incoming calls from SBC (AT&T) SIP entity link are rejected by ASM with 407 proxy authentication message.

Run traceSM with SIP and Call Trace enabled. In the INVITE received, check  the address the call is being received from.

Check if this is the same address as the SIP entity created and if there a trusted SIP entity link for this IP.

Problem Clarification

SBC SIP entity is marked as a trusted host in SMGR, however when I ran traceSM100 noticed SM100 was not marking it with "th":

P-Av-Transport: AP;fe=10.94.20.156:5060;ne=10.94.20.155:5060;tt=UDP <<<<<<< should have th <<<<<

 

Cause

As the invite from SBC to ASM is not marked as "th" by the asset, ASM (SIPAS) is rejecting it with 407 Proxy Authentication Required.

The problem was SBC is using destination UDP/5060 but only TCP/5060 was configure for SBC/ASM entity link.

Solution

Add UDP/5060 on the Session Manager entity links.
