In order to change from AMI-ZCS line coding and ESF framing mode to B8ZS line coding and ESF framing mode, the trunk group associated with the DS1 board being changed should be busied out. The trunk group may also need to have the ports associated with the DS1 removed temporarily. After the busying/deleting is performed, busy the DS1 board, and make the changes, and restore the members to the trunk group. Then release the DS1 board. In this case there was also a problem with the Local Exchange Company. Once fixed, the trunk group went in service.
