Details

An S8300 server can be installed in any of the following media-gateways - G700, G350, G430 or G450

Problem Clarification

Customer needs to shutdown the server but is unable to access the web browser interface to bring the server down.

Cause

There may be many reasons a user may need to gracefully bring down an S8300 server

Solution

- Locate the S8300 server module in the media-gateway
- Using the tip of a pen or small screwdriver, press the Shutdown button on the S8300 faceplate and hold until the green "OK to Remove" LED begins flashing then let go of button. (DO NOT use a pencil as the tip may break off lodging itself in the button assembly)
- When the "OK to Remove" LED goes steady, user can then power cycle the media-gateway or loosen the thumb screws to remove the S8300 module
