IP Phones 1608 randomly reboot when make/receive calls.

Problem Clarification

Release 1.2 is installed on phones

Cause

  • Firmware issue;
  • Also found Ethernet Interface duplex mismatch issues, between devices (network switch//Phone//PC). One operates in half duplex while the other one operates in full duplex;

Check Interface Negotiation Status : Phone : Menu >> Network Info >> Interfaces >> View >> Ethernet/PC Ethernet;

Solution

  • Upgrade Phone FW to Release 1.3.3 or higher;
  • Configure phone and all devices connected to the phone's Ethernet interface with same settings : (auto negotiation // 10Mbps Full Duplex // 100Mbps Full Duplex) ;
