Media Gateway G700 S8300C

Need to dispatch FSE on site and check physical status of the LSP. The P330 FW should be upgraded to the latest 4.1.12 and G700 MGP to 30.27.1 Same issue has being reported for other 2 LSP, one in Italy and the other in Norway. LSP is not detected on the G700.Need to face the MG and check physical status of the LSP. Found also P330 FW should be upgraded to the latest 4.1.12 and G700 MGP to 30.27.1

Performed work:
- Shutdown S8300C
- Removing and inserting server
- Upgrading MGP firmware
Additional work performed:
- End user had a LSP server on-site, Engineer has inserted it in to the G700. It had a newer version from Communication Manager on S8300D installed - G700 didn't see the server (no board)

Note:

An S8300D in a G700 or G350 can be used as a main server or a Survivable Remote in CM6. There is no platform specific licensing in CM6 like there was in CM5. There are only three platform types: 28 for main servers; 29 for ESSs; and 30 for LSPs. If this is being designed as new, it would be designed as a new S8300D in a G450 or G430 and then the gateway hardware would be removed.

Problem Clarification

LSP server S8300C is not working, not responding. G700 doesn't have errors but after installing S8300D server - G700 show "no board" information.

The issue can also happens with S8300D on G450 and CM6.3, in a new case only the S8300D was damaged.

Solution

G700 and S8300C need to be replaced.

1. Replace G700 chassis
2. From Remote Feature Activation (RFA), create new license file with new gateway's serial number
3. Reload the new license file and re-register the LSP.

4. load any kernnal's

5 confirm in sat it is a LSP , may have to tell it it is from webgui
