Problem Clarification

BYE message from service provider to SBCE is not sent to IPO.

This issue is encountered only when an outbound call is placed from an IP office extension. In this scenario, when Far-end Iservice provider) tries to disconnect the call the call does not end.

Tested scenarios:

1.       Inbound cal from service provider, local disconnect. Call ends successfully.
2.       Inbound call from service provider, remote disconnect. Call ends successfully.
3.       Outbound call to service provider from IPO, local disconnect.  Call ends successfully.
4.       Outbound call to service provider from IPO, remote disconnect.  Problem is BYE is not sent to to IPO.

Cause

NATting in border rules disabled.

IPO does not send record-route in INVITE request. As NATTING is disabled, the BYE message sent by service provider to SBCE B1 IP results in below error logged.

PROTOCOL ERROR PROXY 99 ROUTE_NO_ROUTE_REQURI_SELF:The Request URI is self and there are no route headers , unable to route#[ipcs_syslog.cpp:216] 2982710160 (null) (null) (null)

SBCE finds next hop as its own IP and finds no route.

Solution

Enable NAT in border rules and add to the respective Endpoint policy group.
